Perched on the edge of Tellico Reservoir among the Little Tennessee River, this custom home takes full advantage of its unique peninsula setting, offering breathtaking 270-degree water views. Located in Greenback, Tennessee—just south of Knoxville—this residence embodies a seamless fusion of form and function. Designed for a marine industry professional, the home not only provides a sophisticated modern living space but also serves as a practical workspace, with direct water access for boat testing and development. This dual-purpose design ensures that both lifestyle and profession are fully integrated into the natural beauty of the surroundings.
Concept
The home serves as a gateway to the peninsula, thoughtfully balancing privacy and openness. While the street-facing façade remains solid and protective, the lakeside opens dramatically to embrace the water. A strong east to west panorama with the home as an anchor interrupts the natural north-south circulation, creating a clear distinction between the public-facing neighborhood and the secluded outdoor spaces at the peninsula’s point.
As occupants move from the street toward the lake, the structure gradually erodes, revealing breathtaking views beyond. At the heart of the plan sits the kitchen—the true center of activity—serving as both a focal point and a crossroads. From here, sightlines extend out to the water, while a direct path leads to the dock along the east bank of the peninsula. This layout ensures that every major space in the home maximizes its connection to the site, allowing the architecture to embrace its stunning surroundings.

Materials and the Natural Connection
True to the Warm Modern aesthetic, this home embraces natural materials to create a refined, yet rugged mountain modern feel; seamlessly blending with the vernacular of the eastern Tennessee landscape.
